Google Search Console – Getting Started

1. What is Google Search Console and why is it important?

Google Search Console is a free tool from Google that shows how your website is performing in search. It helps you understand:

• What search terms people use to find you
• How often your site shows up in Google
• If there are any technical or security issues affecting visibility

2. What can I do with it now that it’s set up?

You can:

• See what keywords bring people to your site
• Track how many people click from Google to your pages
• Submit new pages or updates to be indexed faster
• Monitor mobile usability or loading issues
• Get alerts if Google detects problems

3. How often should I check it?

We recommend:

• Once a month for general performance
• Anytime you launch a new page or blog post (to submit it to Google)
• Immediately if you get an alert about a technical issue

4. Can I break anything in there?

No, as a verified owner, you have full access, but you can’t “break” your website from Search Console. Just avoid removing the verified site or submitting incorrect URLs. If unsure, feel free to ask us.

5. Can I share access with my team?

Yes! You can add others with view-only or full access.
Go to: Settings > Users and Permissions > Add User

6. Where do I log in?

Visit: https://search.google.com/search-console
Log in with the same Google account we used during setup.

7. What should I look at first?

Start with:

• Performance > Search Results to see how you’re ranking
• Pages > Indexing to check which pages are showing up in Google
• Experience for mobile and speed issues

8. What if I see an error?
