From no online presence to 10–15 leads a month for a new counselling practice

One Team came to me with nothing online: no website, no Google Business Profile and no logo. Just a clear purpose, which was helping couples and individuals communicate better, manage conflict and get back on track.

For a new counselling practice, trust is everything. The site had to feel warm and professional, not clinical or salesy. It had to get found on a brand-new domain, competing against established Springfield practices with aged domains and strong review profiles.

The brief: build authority, create visibility, and start booking real clients without blowing the budget.

Rather than launching a basic site and fixing it later, everything went live together: brand, website, local SEO and booking. Competitors had age and reviews on their side. Many were on dated themes, with no schema and weak mobile experiences. A technically clean site could out-move them fast.

Impressions rose 160% (3.07K → 7.88K), average position improved from 40.3 to 26.7, and website clicks went from 9 to 99, all within nine months of launch on a new domain in the health space.

Google Business Profile did most of the converting. High-intent searchers called straight from the listing, and leads split roughly 70/30 between the profile and the website. The site built the trust; the profile closed it.

Within six months, One Team was generating 10–15 qualified leads a month with no ad spend. At an estimated $150–200 per session, that’s roughly $1,500–3,000 a month from organic channels. On that estimate, the build paid for itself in about two months.

The bottleneck shifted from getting found to managing demand. That’s also where the next lesson came from. Analytics later showed the embedded TidyCal calendar was slowing mobile pages and drew only one online booking a month. That finding started the conversion redesign, which took monthly bookings from 10 to 25.
