From Invisible to 290 Local Google Actions in 10 Weeks

Summary
Body Nurture Massage went from zero online presence to generating consistent local search activity in just 10 weeks. With 181 website clicks and 109 direction requests through Google Business Profile, the business is now being actively discovered by high-intent local clients. Organic search is gaining traction, engagement is strong, and early page 1 visibility is beginning to emerge — all built on a clean, conversion-ready foundation without ongoing SEO or backlinks (yet).
A Skilled Local Therapist Who Was Almost Impossible to Find Online
Body Nurture Massage is a solo massage therapy business operating from a home clinic in Newington, Ballarat. Rebecca had the professional skills and service experience, but the business had almost no digital foundation to help new clients discover her.
The existing online presence consisted of a single Squarespace page that had been sitting quietly for approximately a year. There was no Google Business Profile, meaningful local search visibility or structured website content explaining the available massage services.
For a local appointment based business, this created a significant barrier. Potential clients commonly search for services such as “massage Ballarat”, “remedial massage near me” or “full body massage Ballarat”. If the business didn’t appear for those searches, it wasn’t part of the customer’s consideration at all.
The challenge was to establish the business online from the ground up while working within an early stage budget. The new foundation needed to help Google understand the business, give local clients confidence and make progressing from search to booking straightforward.
Build the Search and Booking Foundations Before Investing in Growth
The immediate priority was to give Body Nurture Massage the strongest possible SEO foundation within its launch budget.
The website was rebuilt in WordPress with a clear structure based on how prospective clients search for and assess massage services. Strategic search optimised content created stronger relevance around services and location, while straightforward booking pathways made it easier for visitors to move from research to an appointment.
A Google Business Profile was established and aligned with the website. Support and an initial Facebook & google business posting calendar with supporting images and captions were provided so the website, GBP and social properties could reinforce the same business, service and location signals.
The launch also included the technical and measurement foundations needed to monitor performance. This meant the next phase of work could be guided by real searches and customer behaviour rather than assumptions.

A New Local Business Generating High Intent Search Activity Within 10 Weeks
Within 10 weeks, Body Nurture Massage had progressed from almost no searchable presence to generating consistent discovery through both Google Search and Google Business Profile.
The Google Business Profile recorded 290 interactions. This included 181 website clicks and 109 direction requests. A direction request doesn’t confirm that someone attended the clinic or completed a booking, but it is a strong high intent signal that the person was actively considering visiting the business.
Google Search Console recorded 200 organic clicks from 2,760 impressions, with a 7.2% click through rate and an average position of 13.3. Although the overall average remained around Page 2, early Page 1 appearances were beginning to form for commercially relevant searches.
“Massage Ballarat” generated 37 clicks, while the business began appearing at an average position of approximately 10.8 for “massage near me”. “Full body massage Ballarat” also started gaining visibility around the Page 1 threshold. Branded searches for “Body Nurture Massage” reached an average position of approximately 1.5, making the business easy to find after a referral or previous brand interaction.
Website behaviour supported the search results. Google Analytics recorded 633 sessions with a 64.3% engagement rate. Organic search accounted for 272 sessions and produced a 78.3% engagement rate, indicating that search visitors were finding content relevant enough to stay and explore.
These results were achieved before a backlink campaign or ongoing content expansion had begun. More importantly, the launch created real performance data. Brighter Websites could now see which services and searches were gaining traction and use that evidence to prioritise the next stage of growth.
